NC Natural Science Museum

Our family time this weekend included a trip to the Natural Science Museum.

Joey, Cassidy and Lily playing in the Discovery Place. This was the girls' favorite part of the outing...it's all hands-on and just for kids!

Lily kept sticking her tongue out during snack time...we don't know why, but it was funny!

Checking out giant dinosaur teeth!

The girls in a hollow tree

It's so nice to watch them grow closer each day!

Trying to steal a piece of the pottery puzzle!

Cassidy is testing out the different forms of paper.

I think we'd be in trouble if this shark showed up and Sunset Beach!

Lettermen's Weekend at ECU

This weekend my family attended the ECU Lettermen's tailgate with my dad, who played cornerback at ECU from 1965-1969. He still holds the record for most interceptions in a game...he had 3, but when he tells the story he always says he should have had 5, but missed 2. It was really fun to see him with his old teammates and to see how much they all love him. I know he's wonderful, but it's always a blessing to see that others see it too! :)

After the tailgate, Joey and I took the girls to the football game...only intending to stay until halftime...but the girls were having a blast, so we got to see the whole game! The girls played and cheered for the Pirates (who won!) and we even had funnel cake! We also got the cheer for Dad who was recognized on the field with all the other Lettermen. The cold, misty weather didn't dampen our moods a bit and afterwards we agreed that it was the most fun we've had in a really long time...we definately were in need of some family time with just the 4 of us!

Fire Safety Day

Yesterday was Fire Safety Day at the Ready to Learn Center. The girls got to meet some firemen and see a fire truck up close.

Lily was more interested in running around with the other kids than in the giant, red truck!

Cassidy listening intently to the fireman. She even answered a question..."What should you do when your clothes catch on fire?" "Stop, drop, and roll," she called out!

Joey's Birthday

Joey's birthday isn't actually until tomorrow, but we have a wild week coming up so we celebrated yesterday. The girls made him homemade cards and Cassidy made him peanut butter cookies. We had breakfast a Cracker Barrel and birthday cake after lunch. All in all, a pretty great family day!

Joey's Chicago Cubs birthday cake...too bad they had already been knocked out of the play-offs by the time we cut it yesterday!

CHEESE!

Me and Lily sharing birthday cake...she was SO sleepy that she was using my arm as a pillow while she ate! :)

Jacob's Baptism

This weekend our godson, Jacob, celebrated his baptism and his first birthday. We were excited to celebrate with him and our extended Pirate family!

Will, Cassidy, and Sydney - all dressed up for the baptism

So excited to be together again! Cassidy was telling everyone we saw on Friday that she would see Sydney the next day!
