Cassidy's Last Day of Preschool

Tuesday was Cassidy's last day of preschool. Her class capped off the year with an ice cream party. Nothing says fun to 3-year-olds like ice cream and all the fixin's. Can you say sugar high?!?!

Cassidy and her friend Maire

Lily was SO excited to be included in the party. She has believed all year that she is actually part of the class. :)

(I am going to miss having her as Cassidy's teacher. She is just fabulous!!!)

Pullen Park

Today, we met our friends Kristy and Wiley at Pullen Park for a play date. Amongst all the fun...which mostly consisted of digging in the sand...I managed to get a few good pictures of the girls.

3, 2, 1....BLASTOFF!!!

What a nice smile!

Now it's Lily's turn. Why is it impossible to get a picture of them both smiling and looking at the camera?!?!

Look, Mommy!!!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day for our family was spent at home...in our PJ's. There were two reasons for our lack of proper daytime attire: 1) we were all tired from a long week and 2) I caught Joey's nasty cold - complete with sore throat, headache, and cough - so all I felt like doing was laying in bed. Regardless, any day when I can lay around in my PJ's with my family is pretty good in my book!

Joey and the girls made me a special Mother's Day breakfast that included eggs, bacon, carrot cake muffins, and fresh squeezed lemonade. Most of the breakfast details were Cassidy's idea and she insisted that they bring it to me in bed. (She actually yelled at me to get back in bed when I got up to get Lily out of her room that morning!) The food was really yummy, especially since it was served with love!

The girls serving me my breakfast in bed along with a special banner and card.

It was a message/music card, so we are listening to it. There were some gift cards to baby stores inside...according to Joey, the new baby has expensive taste! Too bad most of his/her stuff will actually come from the Kids Exchange Consignment sale! :)

Hormonal pregnant lady + Message card with her kids saying "I love you, Mommy! Happy Mother's Day!" = TEARS

And, no...once I started crying, I had a hard time stopping. Darn you, pregnancy hormones!
(And the girls are giving me the "What's wrong with you? We didn't spit on your breakfast!" look!)

Mother's Tea

Yesterday, Cassidy's school hosted a Mother's Tea for all the 3-year-old moms. We were treated to a performance by the kids, gifts from our children, and a yummy snack. Our gifts included paper flowers, paper flower corsages (SO cute!), a poem with our child's handprint, a homemade candle holder, and a list of questions our child answered about us. According to Cassidy:

I am as pretty as a flower.
I weigh 26 pounds and am 50 feet tall. (WOAH!)
My favorite place to go is Disney World.
She thinks I'm funny when I make silly faces.
I am so smart. I even know how to do gymnastics. (I do?!?!)
She wouldn't trade me for anybody. (Awww. Now I'm teary!)
The morning was fun. The girls and I got dressed up for the occassion. I have to say, it's the best Mother's Day present I could get! :)

The preschoolers were all lined up in a line to sing for us. As soon as Lily spotted Cassidy, she ran up to join her. I, of course, dutifully went and removed her from the line and brought her back to the audience. She immediately threw a fit, crying and screaming, "I want Cassidy Grace!" Ms. Laura finally came over and said she could go stand with the kids...so she did! :)
