Spring Break at Grandma's

We spent the first long weekend of our Spring Break in BSL at Grandma's house. Grandma and Grandpa have a beautiful home on a big lake. There's lots room to run and play...a perfect place for family fun!

Cassidy and Finny...excited to go to the aquarium on Sunday!

 Lily loved her piggy tails!

 Sweet Monkeys

Riding the ferry to Fort Fisher...the last time we were on the ferry, Lily was only 10 months old!

 The girls with cousin Whitney

 A rare family photo

Almost everyone looking and smiling...a minor miracle!

Joey and I always forget to take pics of just the two of us...trying to do better! :)

Cassidy lost tooth #4 at dinner the night before...she loves the silly way she talks with a giant hole in her mouth!

Finn ran all over the ferry.

Beautiful girl admiring the gorgeous view!

Posing with the gator...Finn kept smacking his hands together and saying, "Chomp, Chomp!"

Connor did NOT want his picture taken...

...but I got it anyway! :)

 Checking out the turtles...

...how cute are that mommy and baby?!?!

Everyone had to take a turn climbing the frog.

That night there was a wedding...Lily and Connor got married. Jon-Jon officiated. :) Lily said they were just practicing for when they were grown-up.

 How precious are they?!?!

Lifting Lily's veil to kiss the bride...SO bummed I missed the kiss...it was SO cute!!!

A Whole New World

Cassidy and Lily are VERY particular about their hair and have never let me do more than brush it and pull the sides back with a clip or hair tie. I am by no means a hair professional - I'm doing good if mine is somewhat tamed - but I have longed for the occasional pigtail or braid on their beautiful, little heads. Friday they finally decided it was time to expand their hairstyle repertoire and this morning I finally got my first crack at some new 'dos!

Cassidy's first style choice...a bun! I think she was imagining Tinkerbell when she made the request.

Not bad for my first bun! :)

My little pixie is obviously pleased! :)

Couldn't leave Finny out! BTW, I took him to the doctor that morning for a rash that - of course - turned out to be nothing...perhaps I should have just flushed my $25 down the toilet. Anyway, at 17 months the man-child weighs a whopping 30 pounds, 13 ounces...only a pound or two shy of his almost 4 year old sister!

Lily's First Ponytail

She looked absolutely precious!

And she was SO proud to finally be able to wear a big girl ribbon in her hair! Can't wait for all the styles to come!!!

The Easter Bunny Ate My Carrots!

Lily's preschool class had their annual Easter party and egg hunt today. Cassidy, Finn and I were excited to be part of the festivities...and Lily was thrilled to have us in HER classroom. As they finished each part of their lunch the kids would announce, "Mrs. Beverly, the Easter Bunny ate my (carrots/sandwich/grapes/chips)!" Mrs. Beverly would act appropriately shocked - much to the children's delight - and so the joke went on and on. At the end of the meal, looking forlorn, Lily announced that the Easter Bunny had eaten ALL of her food and that she had gotten nothing to eat! She was very pleased when we all lamented the loss of her lunch. :)

Lily and her best friend, Hannah, at lunch

She could hardly contain her excitement over us being at school with her.

Finn and Cassidy were invited to join the party!

Finny sitting at the table like a big boy...he did fall out of his seat once or twice! :)

Cassidy quietly enjoying her meal...the mature kindergartner sitting amongst the preschoolers. :)

Lily took her egg-hunting very seriously.

 She just spied another egg!

The fastest way to get down? Slide, of course!!!
