This morning I was invited to attend two Mother's Day celebrations, a Marvelous Mothers celebration hosted by Cassidy's kindergarten class and a Mother's Day Tea hosted by Lily's preschool. We were treated to musical performances, snacks, a slide show, and gifts...all that love left me a little teary...there's nothing like words and gifts from the hearts of your children!
All dressed up in her tea party attire
Sweet Lily...I love that the cool weather gave us a chance to finally wear this precious jumper made by Aunt Brenda!
Our resident shaggy dog...he SO needs a haircut, but I just can't bring myself to do it quite yet!
Miss Grace sporting some May flowers
She's getting really good at posing for the camera...can't imagine where she got that from! ;)
The tables were covered with paper when we arrived in Cassidy's class so that the kids - and moms - could doodle before the festivities began. The girls got right to work. (Finn was eating his breakfast.)
Lily wrote her name first...Cassidy has been teaching her well!
Cassidy's completed handiwork...those are supposed to be painted fingernails on her traced hands.
Cassidy's Class
Cassidy was selected to read a poem with several of her classmates. She was SO proud!
My gifts from Cassidy included a portrait of me wearing my favorite outfit (I have NO idea what I'm wearing in that pic!)...
...a handwritten letter...
...a list of information about me as told by Cassidy (these are always hilarious!)...
...and a flower basket of chore coupons...SCORE!!!
Two door prizes were given - one to the mom with the most children and the other to the mom with the longest labor. I won for longest labor...28 hours with Cassidy!
Next we were off to Lily's school for a Mother's Day Tea. I found my seat decorated with gifts from Lily.
Info about Mommy as told by Lily
Love, Love, LOVE handprint crafts...and those poems always bring tears to my eyes!
Homemade Candle Holder
Finny wanted to take a picture as we waited for our Lilybug.
She spotted us as soon as she walked in the door.
Happy girl waiting patiently for our turn to get snacks.
My and My Lilybug
(Isn't the corsage precious?!?!)
Here is a montage of the performances we saw today...Cassidy's class singing two songs and her group's poem and the 3's preschool classes singing their special song. SO CUTE!!!
