36 Wonderful Things About My Husband

In honor of his 36th birthday, here's a list of 36 things that make Joey so wonderful!

1. He loves God with all his heart.
2. He loves me...the REAL me...no make-up, ponytail hair, yoga pants, sports bra, t-shirt, graying hair, crow's feet, falling asleep at 9:00 me.
3. He LOVES our kids...so much it brings him to tears sometimes.
4. He yells, "Close your eyes and cover your ears!" any time a preview for a scary movie comes on TV because he knows I don't like them.
5. He never complains when he has to reorganize the pantry EVERY TIME we grocery shop because I let it get disorganized.
6. He wears a big foam tie that Cassidy made him in preschool to his school on her birthday because he knows it blesses her.
7. He wrestles on the floor with the kids.
8. He dances to the credits music of movies with the kids...whether we are at home OR in the theater.
9. He scratches and rubs my back in the middle of the night.
10. Even though the kids are usually a pain to sleep with, he never turns one of them away when they arrive at his bedside in the middle of the night.
11. He plays the part of Gru every time the kids are playing "Dispicable Me."
12. He loves his students.
13. He gets really excited when we get an invitation to a former student's wedding.
14. He lets me hog the covers.
15. Our kids love to spend time with him so much that each of them gave him a certificate for a "Daddy/__________" Day.
16. He used to let Finn win on Mario Cart...until he realized how good Finn really was!
17. He teaches himself how to fix our washer and dryer when they break.
18. Last summer he read "The Tale of Despereaux" to the kids.
19. He is an AMAZING cook!
20. He is always listening when I mention that I'm craving something...and it always arrives at our house within a day.
21. He makes me laugh...A LOT!
22. He is only ticklish when the kids or I tickle him.
23. He works tirelessly to support our family.
24. He tries to make a deal with each kid on their birthday every year that they will not get any older.
25. He loves ECU and the Pirates!
26. He is one of the most loyal and generous people I have ever known.
27. He loves cherry flavored candy.
28. He wears his old, holey undershirts even thought he has new ones "because they are more comfortable!"
29. It is rare to hear him get genuinely tickled over something, but I love it when he does. Often those moments come when we're both laying exhausted in bed.
30. He loves to dance...and sing!
31. He formed "The Hat Club" with the kids, which includes a pledge and a club song.
32. The first thing is does when one of the kids is sick or hurt is pray.
33. He gets emotional every year when saying goodbye to the seniors on his tennis teams.
34. He doesn't mind that the only dates we have are watching movies or streaming TV shows in our bed.
35. He has learned how to laugh in a bad situation.
36. HE IS PART OF OUR FAMILY!!!
