A Zoo-rific Birthday!

OK, so it's a cheesy title, but it's exactly what Finn (and the rest of us) had! Finn rarely says he REALLY wants something, so when he said he wanted to go to the zoo for his birthday a couple of months ago we determined to do our best to make it happen. Weather, of course, was a huge question mark...no point in going if it's going to be freezing cold. God certainly answered our prayers and we had a gorgeous day last Tuesday for visiting all the beautiful animals. We walked the full length of the zoo twice so the kids walked a total of about 7 miles, but there were few complaints and, instead, lots of smiles, laughter, excitement, hand holding, and hugs. It was the best day!

We had birthday dinner (Mickey D's per Finn's request..although I think he was mostly interested in the Happy Meal toy), cake and presents on Sunday so that Monday evening we could head to Asheboro.

Cassidy's present for Finn...she made him a poster showing him as a Punch Out champion. He LOVES that video game! :)

Eli got Finn a blow-up boxing glove...it lasted about a day!

Emerson chose a Ninja mask for the boy whose Mema and Gran outfitted him with a couple of swords! He and Eli are a force to be reckoned with!
