Cassidy's 1st Field Trip: The Pumpkin Patch

Lily and I accompanied Cassidy and her classmates on their first official school field trip to the pumpkin patch today. The morning was freezing so we bundled up and headed out for a really fun morning on the farm. The kids got to see lots of old fashioned farm equipment, take a hay ride around the farm and participate in a scavenger hunt along the way, pet and feed goats and a donkey, learn about Indian pottery and artifacts, and pick their very own pumpkin to take home. The girls had an absolute blast and Lily actually cried when it was time to go! I call that a successful field trip! :)

She told me she was "sitting with her friends." I guess that was an unprompted explanation for why she was not sitting with me? :)

This girl LOVES animals...no matter how dirty or smelly! She was feeding the goats collards by hand.

Petting the goats...Lily was a little more wary and wanted to be held if it looked like she might come face-to-face with a goat!

Giving the goats more love!
