Yesterday Rand Road held its end of the year awards ceremony to recognize students who had excelled in various activities throughout the school year. For the second year in a row Cassidy was honored with the Rand Road Raider Award, an award given to one student in each class who has demonstrated good character throughout the school year. From all the students chosen to recieve this award, two (one from K-2 and one from 3-5) are chosen to receive the Irving Mims Exemplery Character Award. They get a special certificate and their name is added to a plaque that hangs in the school. Cassidy was chosen this year as the K-2 recipient of this award. We didn't tell her, so it was a really fun surprise at the ceremony.
Joey and I were so blessed and proud of Cassidy for demonstrating the heart and behavior that God wants her to have. It is so wonderful to see her shining for Him as a light in this world. (Although we also privately joked, "Is this the same kid that has a mini-meltdown EVERY DAY when we say it's time to do her homework?!?!)
