Our Little Sunshines: Eli's 3rd Birthday Bash

We celebrated Eli's 3rd birthday on Sunday with a family party and a trip to the new splash pad in Fuquay. Today we're headed to Marbles, his choice for a birthday outing.

At 3 years old, Eli reminds me of the Incredible Hulk. Sweet, gentle, tenderhearted half the time and wild, unstoppable destructive beast the other half. He is hilarious - and he knows it - with impeccable comic timing, tone, and facial expressions. When pretending these days, he is most likely a dog or Pekachu from Pokemon. He is the first to pray for someone when they are sick or hurt or sad. He is also most likely to sneak into the fridge, open up the ice cream cartons and help himself with his bare hands. In fact, he is our resident food thief and will take food right off your plate if you're not watching. He loves snuggling, eskimo kisses, and back scratches, but he also loves punching, kicking, wrestling, and sword fighting...and Joey taught him how to decapitate someone with two swords, so it's only a matter of time before he maims someone. He loves to sing and to yell at the top of his lungs. He is exhausting and absolutely the most fun little guy ever!

In just the past two weeks, Eli went from being afraid to put his head in the water, to dunking under the water, to jumping off the side of the pool, to beginning to swim, to going off the diving board. He's not strong enough to swim from the diving board on his own, but he's improving a little each day and he's not at all afraid anymore! A whole new world of fun has opened up to him! :)
